DETAILED PROGRAMME
1st day
ATHENS – LONDON (VISIT TO THE BRITISH MUSEUM, PANARMIC TOUR) Our travel group will meet at the airport for our flight to the beautiful and captivating London. Upon arrival, we will visit the iconic British Museum (visit – free admission), a museum dedicated to human history, art and culture, located in the Bloomsbury area of London. Its permanent collection of eight million works of art is the largest in the world, recording the history of human civilisation from its beginnings to the present day, with many great finds. It is also home to the Parthenon Marbles, where our Caryatids greet us. We will then enjoy a panoramic tour of the city for a first introduction to it. Our day concludes with a transfer to our hotel. Check in and overnight.
Day 2
LONDON – GREENWICKS – CRUISE ON THE TAMESSEE – Notting Hill After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for the lovely village of Greenwich, on the banks of the River Thames. We will visit the spectacular Royal Greenwich Park and the National Maritime Museum (visit – admission free) located on a UNESCO World Heritage Site, part of the Royal Museums of Greenwich, which also includes the Royal Observatory, the Cutty Sark, the famous historic sailing ship and the fastest of its time, and the Queen’s House, a museum of now important works of art. Greenwich is also famous for its very distinctive market, opened in 1737, with more than fifty food stalls and craft exhibits. In the afternoon we will enjoy a unique cruise on the River Thames (costs are individual and for those booked from Athens), with views of all the great sights of the city, pass under the famous London Bridge, take a boat trip down the river to the city’s important monuments and end up at the site of the London Eye. In the late afternoon we will arrive at our hotel. Overnight.

Day 3
LONDON – WINDsor – OXFORD – LONDON After breakfast we will depart for Windsor in the English county of Berkshire. Closely associated with English and successive British royalty, it embodies almost a millennium of architectural history. Its famous castle (admission costs individual) is considered the largest in Europe and is a jewel. At the same time, it is one of the most populous in the world, with over five hundred people living there. Our next stop is Oxford, in central southern England. Its famous university was founded in the 12th century. The architecture of the thirty-eight colleges in the medieval city centre led poet Matthew Arnold to nickname it the “City of Dreaming Spires”. In the late afternoon we will return to our hotel. Overnight.

4th day
LONDON – TOUR After breakfast we depart to tour on foot and by public transport (ticket costs individually) to areas of major attractions. We will start in the Westminster area where Big Ben and its namesake Abbey are located, pass by Buckingham Palace and end up at the famous Harrods department store. From midday onwards you have free time. No matter how many days you stay in London, it will never be enough. The city has so many things to see that one time really isn’t enough. Whether you choose to be in the West End, the area synonymous with theatre, entertainment and culture, or one of the endless museums – the Natural History Museum is here, but also Madame Tussauds’ wax museum for a photo with the Queen – or take a stroll through Hyde Park or the
